The City takes an NS40ZL size battery, the small 12V 35Ah class with the L terminal layout. The number a battery shop works from is the size code, not a car maker’s part number, so this entry is a size rather than an OEM number.

A Malaysian battery retailer lists NS40ZL as a common size for the City, and the same size covers the Jazz and the BR-V. Budget RM180 to RM280 fitted.

Two things to check. The terminal side has to match the old battery, because a reversed fit puts the positive post against the body. And the City’s battery sits close to the fuse box, so ask for the cover to be refitted, not left in the boot.
