Cabin Air Filter

Cabin filter behind the glovebox. Perodua sells it as 999-40014-70000, and Malaysian listings fit the same filter to the Axia including the A300, the Bezza, the third-generation Myvi and the Alza. One filter across a family of cars is why it costs less than a plate of rice.

Replace it once a year, or every 15,000 km, and sooner in haze season. A clogged filter cuts airflow, holds moisture and is where the musty smell on start-up comes from. If the blower is loud but the vents are weak, this is the first thing to change.

There is no cabin filter on some early Axia trims. Check the housing behind the glovebox before ordering, since a car with a blanking plate takes no filter.
