Cabin Air Filter

Cabin filter behind the glovebox. Perodua sells it as 999-40014-70000, and Malaysian listings fit the same filter to the Bezza, the Axia, the third-generation Myvi and the Alza.

Replace it once a year, or every 15,000 km, and sooner if you drive in haze or park under trees. A clogged filter cuts airflow and holds moisture, which is where the musty smell on start-up comes from.

Two checks before you buy. Confirm the housing behind the glovebox actually holds a filter, because some base cars ship with a blanking plate. Then look at the old filter’s shape: a filter sold as “Perodua cabin filter” without a number can be the wrong size.
