Car Battery (NS40ZL size)

The Vios takes an NS40ZL size battery, the small 12V class with the L terminal layout. The number that gets you the right box at any shop is the size code, not a car maker’s part number.

A Malaysian battery retailer lists NS40ZL for the fourth-generation Vios from 2022 onward. Budget RM180 to RM280 fitted.

Ask for the CCA figure, not just the price. Two batteries can carry the same size code with 40 to 60 A difference in cold cranking, and the cheaper one is usually the lower figure. If the car still cranks slowly with a new battery, check the terminals and the charging system before replacing it again.

Verified against a carbattery.com.my listing for the 2022-onward Vios and Shopee Malaysia listings that name NS40ZL and the Vios, 2026-10-27.
