ABS Warning Light from Wheel Sensor
- Simptom
- ABS warning light stays on while driving
- ABS and stability functions disabled while the light is lit
- Light appears after driving through deep water or potholes, then clears
- Intermittent light that corresponds to hitting a bump
- Punca
- A wheel speed sensor can fail or get fouled by metal debris, cutting the speed signal to the ABS module. Sensor failures are among the most commonly cited causes of the ABS light in Myvi owner groups. On some cars the wiring harness to a sensor survives. On D20N Myvis the front sensors carry Perodua-style codes of the 89542-BZ120 / 89543-BZ120 type as listed by local parts sellers, but sensor codes vary by position and year, so confirm before ordering.
- Penyelesaian
- A workshop reads the stored ABS code and it names the wheel. Tell them when the light came on, whether it was deep water or a pothole, and whether it clears by itself. That story points at dirt on a sensor rather than a dead unit. A basic scan runs RM80 to RM150, a full all-module read RM150 to RM250, and most shops waive the fee if you book the repair with them. A replacement sensor lands around RM190 fitted. Braking feel stays normal with ABS disabled, but stopping distances on loose or wet surfaces get worse, so do not sit on it for months.
