The standard 1.6 with the five-speed manual is the cheapest way into a Gen-2 and the one to pick if you want the engine to feel awake. The manual makes the flat spot below 3,000 rpm easier to live with because you can hold a gear, and it avoids the four-speed automatic’s repair risk entirely.
The price list calls this one “GEN 2 1.6 MANUAL ECH B”. RM51,510.66 is the amount on that list, which is an on-the-road figure with insurance and registration included, so do not compare it directly with a bare list price from another model year. The same document shows the 2008 facelift IAFM manual at RM53,488, which is how you can tell these are the run-out S4PH cars rather than the newer engine.
No feature list ships with this entry. The 2004 launch car’s standard equipment was not verified from a Malaysian brochure, and a guessed list is worse than none. Check the actual car for airbags, ABS and air-conditioning, since those varied by year and by trim in this era.
Sold from 2004 to the March 2008 facelift. The 1.3 is a different engine and is not covered here.
