Power Window Motor Failure

Symptoms
- Window moves slowly or gets stuck halfway
- Window drops slightly when fully closed (anti-pinch misalignment)
- Window regulator makes grinding noise
Cause
Early production Myvi models (2018-2021) used a window motor and regulator assembly that can wear prematurely. The motor brushes wear down and the regulator cables can fray, especially on frequently used windows (driver's side is most affected).
Solution
Replace the window regulator assembly. The motor and regulator are sold as a single unit. Lubricate the window channel with silicone spray during replacement to extend the life of the new unit.

Community notes
More common on the driver's side. Later production runs from 2022 onwards have improved regulator assemblies. Some owners lubricate channels preventively every 2 years.
