CVT Fluid Check (Perodua Myvi)
Coverage reviewedintermediate20 minutes~RM 0basis not stated · undated5 steps
Engine must be running and warm for accurate CVT fluid check
Do not smoke or use open flames near transmission fluid
Tools required: Clean White Paper Towel · Funnel (if topping up)
Steps
1
Start the engine and let it warm up
Tip: Idle for 5-10 minutes. CVT fluid must be checked at operating temperature
2
Shift through all gears slowly
Tip: P → R → N → D → L, pausing 3 seconds at each. This circulates fluid through the CVT
3
Pull the CVT dipstick
Warning: The dipstick is on the left side of the engine bay. Use a cloth; the stick may be hot
4
Inspect fluid condition on white paper
Tip: Healthy Myvi CVT fluid (CVTF FE) is pinkish-red and translucent. Dark brown or burnt-smelling fluid needs replacement
5
Check fluid level
Warning: Never overfill; excess pressure can damage CVT seals
Tip: Level should be between the HOT marks when engine is warm. If low, add small amounts of CVTF FE only
Checking your Myvi’s CVT fluid condition is a quick diagnostic that can reveal early signs of transmission trouble. The Myvi uses Idemitsu CVTF FE — never mix with other CVT fluids. Make this check a habit every 10,000km.
