The cheapest way into a third-generation Myvi, and the only manual. RM44,300 at the November 2017 launch, RM2,000 under the automatic.

The five-speed is the reason to want it. It is a simple cable-shift box with a light clutch, and it avoids the four-speed automatic’s highway revs. In traffic it is more work. The manual only ever came in this one trim and the facelift dropped it, so treat a used one as a niche car: price it against the automatics and expect a narrower set of buyers.

No hill hold assist on this trim. The car rolls back on a slope until you learn the handbrake, which matters if you park on a hill every day.

Kerb weight is left off this page on purpose: the published figures are for the automatic, and the manual is lighter by an amount no document we found states.
