The five-speed manual was the cheapest Iriz from launch in 2014 until the 2022 model year update killed it. From the 2017 update it was the only manual left, paired with the 1.3 litre engine and the Standard trim only. No tailgate spoiler on this one, and 14-inch wheels rather than the 15s the CVT cars moved to in 2022.
This is the variant enthusiasts hunt for now. One paultan.org staffer bought a 2019 example specifically for the stick shift, and his long-term review is the reason a used manual carries a small premium. Short gearing means busy revs on the highway.
The RM36,700 figure is the 23 April 2019 list price, on the road without insurance, the cheapest the car ever got. Earlier lists: RM42,438 at the September 2014 launch (with insurance) and RM43,800 in June 2017. Dealers stopped taking orders in early 2021 and the facelift dropped the manual completely in August 2021.
Proton does not print a public variant code for the Iriz, so this entry carries no variantCode. Any code you see quoted online for an Iriz trim is a reseller code.
